- A bit of a detour...

Ok, for those of you who don't know I'm a fan of coffee. Was perusing Keep Breathing's blog and caught a link here to Tom Bibey, MD's bluegrass-and-medicine page.

Seems ole Doc Bibey composed some lyrics, and I felt the musical bug bite me on the ass, so I went ahead and laid it down on my laptop.

EDIT: Here is the working link to COFFEE SONG. Check it out!

And now he's got a song writing contest going! Check it out!

I stumbled on your blog just this week and read the entire thing. Bravo! I worked 20 years in a small clinic that doubled as an emerg centre.

Long story short - we were told never to lie to a patient. I had issues with that when faced with a serious trauma; the person gripping my hand and asking, "am I going to die?"

I always looked them dead in the eye and said "no, I'm not going to let that happen" even if I thought they'd be French kissing the Grim Reaper anytime now. My theory is that it gave them fight, prevented them from giving up.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on that.
